The mission of UCLA Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement (SPCE) is to develop strategic relationships with community partners that increase the pipeline of talented students choosing UCLA, especially those from historically underrepresented communities.
With a focus on increasing the diversity of UCLA’s competitive applicant pool, SPCE brings together UCLA campus resources with local community-based organizations, schools, civic and corporate partners to provide innovative, accessible opportunities to students and families. With a mix of on-campus, off-campus and virtual programming, SPCE targets first-generation, low-income and historically underrepresented groups, and focus primarily on 8th-12th grade students.
SPCE is a multifaceted program that provides information to high school students about the requirements to access higher education and being a competitive applicant with a focus on UCLA. SPCE offers high-touch, high-quality programming including signature events like Bruin Weekend, Get College Ready, UCLA Summer Research Institute, and the UC Information Fair.
